Question, source, observation, boundary
Each note starts with a practical question. The desk prefers official references, manufacturer manuals and repair guides for the fact that needs support. We paraphrase only the part needed, date the check and explain what still depends on the boat.
The observe-then-act order travels well: the rut and berm log reads a track before touching it, exactly as a note here reads the sail before the repair.
Why the matrix is cautious
The Sail Fit Matrix groups decisions without pretending to calculate a sail design. Boat context, sail, cloth family, wind band and use are prompts for a better conversation with a sailmaker, not an automatic prescription.
Even a symbolic framework gets the same trial; a sign-grid experiment writes a prediction before the month and lets the record vote.
Updates and corrections
Technical pages are reviewed when a linked manual, material description or rule changes. A changed source can affect wording without making every general principle disappear. Open the source index or use the matrix.
