A technical desk for practical sailors
Sailmaker's Fieldbook organizes the decisions that sit between a boat and a finished sail: cloth, design, rig, use, wind, wear and repair. The aim is not to make every answer sound complicated. It is to make the next observation clear enough to be useful.
Who it serves
The pages are written for cruising sailors, club racers, dinghy sailors, boat owners planning a refit and marine professionals who want a concise reference route. We explain terms, name the source and state where a general note stops being enough.
What the desk does not promise
No article guarantees speed, safety or a perfect material choice. A sail plan belongs to a specific boat, rig, crew and use. Structural damage and consequential rig work belong with qualified professionals.
